There is another reason that I have not exhibited. When I first began painting, I knew that what I was doing was different than what most people were used to seeing. I have always had an audience that liked it, and others that would rather see something else. I get that and accept it. When I was younger I was embarrassed to show my work, but I knew that it was “something”, and that I should keep going with it. I did it in the background, in my basement or attic studio without telling many people. Many good, close friends did not even know that I was painting for many years.
But now I am in retirement, I have nothing but painting and my own ambition in front of me. I want people to see, to stand in front of something that (hopefully) moves them, draws them in, that gives them the idea that there is always another story that we haven’t yet heard.
I hope you watch and wait while I try to get out there. As always, I appreciate your support.
